I was scrolling through Facebook this morning when I saw that my friend Joe posted a link with the caption “I feel as this is something I must acquire.”  That caption sparked my curiosity and I clicked on the link to see what all the fuss was about.  Then I realized that it was something truly amazing.  It’s sort of hard to tell from the picture, but this is actually a piece in Riusuke Fukahori’s collection called “Goldfish Salvation” that was created by painting three-dimensional goldfish and using poured resin.  The video below gives a better understanding of how exactly he makes this art.

This video is from the ICN Gallery’s Vimeo channel, which is appropriate because Riusuke Fukahori had his exhibit in this London Gallery recently.  The gallery is free, and features contemporary art from Japanese and other Asian artists.  I think the gallery would be a great one to visit if I was closer!  But I’m glad that through the video above I could experience some of Riusuke Fukahori’s amazing work!

Hope you enjoyed this article, and for more great artists check out this article on NC Street Art!
