Welcome, and thank you so much for stopping by Jess Explains It All.  If you’ve found yourself on this page, chances are you wanted to learn a little more about me.  I’m an open book and would love to tell you who I am. Let me tell you a little about myself.Currently, I’m sitting on my porch in LA, writing a blog about crystals, mindfulness, meditation, the law of attraction and creating your own bliss.  How did I get here?

I was born in Australia, but spent most of my life in North Carolina.  I went to school to receive BFA acting and upon graduation (and time spent traveling the UK), I packed my car and moved to LA to pursue my dreams.

Upon arrival I promptly got a restaurant job (as all actresses do), then another, and another.  I worked millions of odd jobs (painting gallery walls, being an estate sales staging associate – the list goes on and on!).

I spent five years in the city before I realized doing what I was “supposed” to, could never satisfy me the way doing what I was meant to do would.  I’m still pursuing acting, and love it, but there was something inside me that was calling to be let free – a teacher.

I’ve always believed that no matter how old you are, life works the best when you’re always a student- forever curious and never too proud to say “I don’t know”.  What I didn’t realize until I started this blog, was that every student is a teacher- including me! Check out my about me page.

During my time in LA, I learned what people say about this city is true.  It will chew you up and spit you out, but if you can make it through everything she throws at you, you’re doing pretty well.

Being in a city that seemed so “hard” was something I was beginning to resent, and I never wanted that for my life.  So I decided to change it.  You’re never too old to change anything about your life.  You just have to be brave enough to believe you can.

Which brings me to my crystal journey – I was experiencing job perils and business failures everywhere I turned, and it wasn’t until I realized that the answer to finding happiness in life doesn’t come from a job, or an outside source.  It comes from YOU.

I found crystals and meditation, and in using both as tools to shift mindset and my vibration, I changed my life.  I remember calling my mum and being a little nervous to tell her that that I was in love with crystals and meditation.

She has always been 1000% supportive about anything I try to do, but I thought this would seem “so LA”.  She answered the phone and just laughed.  I remember sitting on the bus (en route to my favorite crystal shop) feeling utter panic because she was laughing at me!

When she caught her breath she said “oh sweetie, you’re just like me”.  She began to tell me how during her 20s-30s in Australia, she also became enthralled with meditation, yoga and crystal healing.  It became a lifelong passion for her.

I felt my eyes tearing up and feeling so loved and supported.  Not just by my mother, but by the universe – this path was always an option for me, I just had to open my eyes and my mind enough to find it.

A note on my mum, in addition to being a beautiful human being and crystal/meditation/mindfulness advocate, she’s also a blogger, and actually inspired me to create this site back in 2013 (I wanted to be just like her, of course)!

When I first started the site, I wasn’t sure what to write about, so I tried to write a little bit of everything.  Hence the name, Jess Explains It All.  I’m so glad I chose that name, because when true passion struck me to write, I already had a site that I could share my truth on!

So if you see some other bits and bobs on the site that have nothing to do with crystals, they’re from my first attempt at the blog.  Just as I believe you’re never too old to be a student, I also believe you’re never too old to start a new dream. 😘

Life is meant to be lived fully, doing something you’re passionate about.  If that ever changes, I encourage you to change with it.  I never feel as exhausted as I do when I’m working so feverishly towards the wrong dream.  Give yourself the option to change – I did and it revolutionized my happiness.See why I'm all smiles, in my about me page.Over the next few years after that phone call with my mum, I spent every free moment I had learning everything I could about crystals.  The only thing I found challenging was that the information I was finding online was often unreliable and conflicted with itself.

This sparked my calling to provide a resource for people who wanted to learn more about crystals, mindfulness, meditation and creating your own happiness.  I wanted to have correct information that could really help people in need.

Crystals have helped me so much, and I want to share everything I know with you.  Which brings me back to this moment, sitting on my porch, surrounded by crystals for unconditional love and speaking my truth as I type out these words to you.

You can do anything you put your mind to, and I’m so supportive of you, no matter where you are in your journey.  You are worthy and deserving of the life you want to create, and I’m so excited you chose to come to my page to assist you on your path.  I’m so honored to be a part of your story.Visit my about me page to have a virtual coffee date and learn my story! My biggest dream for this blog is to be able to create content that truly helps people.  I want to help YOU.  If you have any suggestions for things you’d like to see covered on my blog, questions you need answered, or have collaborations you’d like to pitch to me, send an email to JessExplains@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you as quickly as I can.
